Our Environmental Commitment
Here at AirScape our environmental initiatives are taking root at all levels — from simple efforts to reduce energy use on a daily basis to aggressively seeking ways to minimize packaging for shipping. We’re also committed to finding ways to build our products with sustainable manufacturing and business practices. We’re proud of what we've achieved, but recognize that there’s much more to do. Each and every day as individuals and as a company — we make strides toward a more ecologically responsible future.
Here’s What We're Doing Now:
Products and our Home Base
All of our parts and components are ROHS compliant, lead-free and are manufactured using state of the art systems. Additionally, we use eco-friendly practices including low energy lighting systems, efficient HVAC equipment, plus strict re-cycling and sorting of all products throughout our entire organization.
Whether it is cardboard for our boxes or paper for information sheets and manuals, we choose Forestry Stewardship Council products. Under FSC certification, forests are certified against a set of strict environmental and social standards, and fibre from certified forests is tracked all the way to the consumer through the chain of custody certification system. The end result is products in the marketplace carrying the FSC 'check-tree' logo.
AirScape Energy Savings Clock
Thousands of customers across the United States and Canada have found that a Whole House Fan is the natural energy efficient cooling solution. Take a look at our Energy Savings Clock - where we track the combined savings and translate them into everyday terms. To date we have saved the equivalent of over 90,000,000 Small Car miles, check out the other green contributions.
Until recently, we provided return labels to allow customers to return their polyethylene packaging foam to us for re-use. This was a very successful program and we appreciated how many of our customers participated in our efforts to reduce the waste in our packaging. We ended up with a return rate of over 50%, which is amazing. We are no longer offering return labels for the foam as we have carefully redesigned our packaging to allow us to reduce our overall volume of polyethylene foam use to less than 25% of what our previous packaging used. The foam pieces we now use are still robust enough to ship the whole house fan components safely throughout the country, but they don't withstand multiple shipments as well as the old packaging. We have calculated that despite ending our recycling program, we are still creating less foam waste than in our previous packaging. Hopefully all our customers are able to properly recycle this packaging and continue to keep it out of landfills.
